3D TERRAIN EXPANSION

The 3D Terrain Expansion will not only visually enhance your gameplay by replacing paper elements with plastic ones, but it will also enrich scenarios with new rules introduced by these terrains. Search through chests and market stalls for new items, throw objects left on tables (or use the table as a weapon!). Break barrels to slow down your opponent or topple a stack of packages on them to inflict damage. The box also includes a new character – Konrad Kiefern, the owner of the Zum Zinnsoldat (At the Lead Soldier) inn. This former soldier, thanks to his numerous contacts, will facilitate the recruitment of mercenaries, and if necessary, will assist you in combat with his rapier.

SWORDS OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS

“Swords of Light and Darkness” is an expansion to Anno Domini 1666, a swashbuckling game of intrigue and mystery, set in an alternative reality of 17th century Vienna. An expansion introduces many new characters and series of scenarios linked to a campaign. The Imperial election comes to its conclusion. Players will try to convince the Elector of Brandenburg, Friedrich Wilhelm, to vote for their candidate. It depends on you whether Louis the XIV of France or Charles II of Spain, also known as El Hechizado (The Bewitched), will become the new emperor. In the shadow of the great politics, we’ll see a duel between the two famous fencers: Salvatore Fabris, possessed by the mighty demon Caarcinolaas and Gérard Thibault d’Anvers. Only few people realize that the consequences of the duel between the Sword of Light and the Sword of Darkness could be much more serious than just the upcoming Imperial election…
Swords of Light and Darkness implement new Alarm rules, an achievement system and – most importantly – rules for solo play. Now you can enjoy Anno Domini 1666 even if you lack partner to play with. In the Campaign Book you will also find “The Duel”, a short story written by top Black Library author C. L. Werner!

Some of them prefer to work in silence while others love the roar of gunfire and the sound of explosions. For some, fighting is sense of life, for others it is just the way they earn their bread. Some think of themselves as professionals and are proud of their skills; others are far from being serious and simply love the chaos. No matter what you think about them it’s just a question of time when you will need their services. Yet their skills are not cheap, so you will need to have some money, my friend…
Mercenaries II is simultaneously a group of strong neutral characters and a supplement for the factions: Viennese Mafia and Monster Hunters.
BLOOD MOON

There are rumours of a ferocious beast lurking in Vienna’s alleyways. Some claim they could hear howling, others swear they’ve seen mutilated bodies. Is there any truth to these blood-chilling stories? Surely, the unassuming Hungarian siblings by the name of Anna and Valerius Farkas have nothing to do with this mythical beast.

HORRORS OF VIENNA

There is a saying that people are the world’s real monsters. Anybody believing that obviously hasn’t been to Anno Domini 1666’s Vienna. This poor city has been invaded by two creatures so vile that even Klaus, the evil alchemist, wouldn’t have them as pets. The Basilisk dwells in the city sewers. Once it climbs up to the surface, it flies across the night sky terrorizing citizens with its deadly gaze. The Lindwurm is a snake-like scavenger feasting on fresh graves. Its scales make the beast nearly invincible, while the poisonous bite keeps would-be monster hunters at bay.
RABBI & GOLEM

Nathan ben Moses Hannover is in his seventies and very proficient in the kabbalah lore. A few years ago he went to Prague, seeing in his prophecies that hard times were coming back for his people. He managed to decipher Rabbi Loew’s notes and find out the secret of creating the golem – a mighty guardian. The old man and his silent companion went to Vienna to discover source of approaching darkness.
JULIO & VICENTE

Officially they are noble members of military orders. Brother Julio is a knight of the Order of Santiago and brother Vicente is a knight of the Order of Calatrava. Only few people know that they work as agents and enforcers of the Spanish Inquisition. After the Emperor’s death, they were summoned to Vienna to support Grand Inquisitor Nidhard. They walk in the path of righteousness, armed with all the tools required to fight evil creatures and heretics.
VIENNA LOCALS

The crowded streets of Vienna are full of important people, nobles and all kind of adventurers who come seeking glory and wealth. The backbone of the city, however, are its regular citizens. The respected ones like burghers and apothecaries, and those from the lower ranks of the social ladder, like the city’s thieves and beggars. They are not heroes, and they will not win the game alone, but do not underestimate them. Each of them, when used appropriately, will provide you with valuable support andbcould turn the tide in your favor.
The expansion includes all neutral characters from Core Set and from the “Swords of Light and Darknes” , not available in others sets.
THUGS

World of Anno Domini 1666 is not only world of brave heroes, but also the home of less powerful characters. They are not amazing fencers, deadly marksmen or powerful wizards but even their skills can save the day. Thugs are perfect cannon fodder. They are cheap, fight relatively well and can also provide you Connections required to hire mercenaries.
FOOTMEN

World of Anno Domini 1666 is not only world of brave heroes, but also the home of less powerful characters. They are not amazing fencers, deadly marksmen or powerful wizards but even their skills can save the day. Thanks to the breastplates and helmets Footmen can survive hits which could kill other characters. Long glaives provides them advantage in close combat and pistols allow them to fight from distance
PEASANTS

Peasants are the less expensive characters in the whole universe of Anno Domini 1666, so by hiring them for your band you can keep both high number of activations and many powerful (so expensive!) heroes.
OCTAVIA

Ottavio Picolomini had many illegitimate children. One of his sons – Maximilian (or as his father called him – Massimo) could not count on inheriting any property. However, from an early age he accompanied his father as a page, then as a messenger, and finally he became a soldier in Piccolomini’s regiment. He even received one of his father’s cuirassier armours as a gift, as it was too tight for its first owner. Maximilian himself eventually grew out of it, but he kept the armour as a keepsake. With time, Max began to perform important tasks for the staff and intelligence service of the Imperial army.
Apparently, he was on to something big when he was murdered in 1665. He left behind a nineteen-year-old daughter, named Octavia – after her grandfather. From an early age the girl had a restless nature. As a child, she often fought with boys – her peers. Later she learned to fight and shoot well. When Maximilian’s servant brought her the news of her father’s death, she decided to find the murderes and take revenge. She travels in male disguise and under an assumed name. Only her servant, a young boy, knows who Octavia really is.
In battle, Octavia wears her grandfather’s armor. Unfortunately, she is not used to it and is not strong enough to move in the armour with ease. All attempts to climb or jump are significantly more difficult (Hulking special rule gives her -1 for those tests). On the other hand the armor protects her – both from wounds and from recognition. Octavia can also use the protective properties of armor in combat. When she sees that the enemy’s blow will hit her and she will have difficulty parrying it, she lets the armor take the hit and attacks (hence the Retaliation special rule).
