Heroes of the Order of Solomon

Octavia, Anno Domini 1666

Ladies first! In the case of Octavia Piccolomini, this is not just a matter of courtesy! This woman, clad in armor inherited from her grandfather, is a truly formidable warrior. Her armor restricts her movement and prevents her from running, but in return, it provides excellent protection. Oktavia can even deliberately take a hit to make her opponent expose themselves—only to strike back in return.

It’s worth equipping Octavia with a Rapier with Combined Pistol, which will allow her to take a defensive shot when attacked.

Isaac Newton, on the other hand, is not a great warrior. He is a typical representative of the second type of heroes found in the Order of Solomon—support characters. His undeniable advantage is his knowledge of Alchemy, which allows him to equip himself or his companions with valuable potions.

However, the thinker’s greatest asset is his Intelligence of 3, which, when enhanced by the “Genius” skill, gives him a tremendous chance to draw a card thanks to the faction ability “Situation Awareness.” And he can do it twice per round!

He is also essential for the Monstrum to join the ranks of the band!

Monstrum, Anno Domini 1666

Newton’s “Firstborn Child” is a powerful, terrifying, and hard-to-kill character. If there’s a door that can be broken down, you can be sure that the Monstrum will get the job done. It will never flee from battle, and its mere presence unnerves opponents, making them worse at… well, pretty much everything when they’re nearby. And that fear is justified—because even if the Monstrum loses a fight against a more skilled opponent, it doesn’t care and can strike back painfully.

Rabbi, Anno Domini 1666

Although mechanically classified as a Common character, the Rabbi is listed alongside the Heroes. The fact that he doesn’t take up a Hero slot in the roster is a significant advantage. On top of that, he is useful right from the team-building stage, crafting amulets thanks to his knowledge of Kabbalah, and his Wealth helps further equip the band.

Natan can also perform divinations, and with an Intelligence of 2, he is also effective as a character who can draw cards using “Situation Awareness.”

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that he is the one who can create the Golem, the last of today’s discussed heroes.

Golem, Anno Domini 1666

The Rabbi’s Guardian is even stronger than the Monstrum. Moreover, it is very difficult to destroy, and even after a victorious battle, it can deliver a blow with its massive clay fist! The skills “Living Barricade” and “Jostling” make it the perfect candidate for tying up entire groups of enemies in combat.

Summary

Faction heroes of the Order of Solomon represent two types of characters—support and so-called tanks. Alchemical potions, talismans, inventions, divinations, and card drawing through faction abilities are significant advantages for the rest of the team, but you need someone to support with them. The Monstrum, Golem, or armored Octavia will come out unscathed from many battles, taking on the fight against the most formidable opponents. However, while playing the Order of Solomon, the key will be to utilize Common characters, which we will take a closer look at in the next post.
